We have not been to the Dominican Republic ourselves, but we have booked clients there. As we were planning a getaway for early this October, we were considering the D.R., but flight prices were not favorable, so we chose a different destination. It remains on our bucket list for an unknown date sometime in the future.
We sent a young honeymoon couple this June and they absolutely loved the trip. While they were there, they celebrated their honeymoon, but we also arranged a symbolic wedding ceremony and a photography session. They were in a butler service swim-out suite at an all-inclusive resort.
The trip started out uneventful, then it took a turn. Our bride found out on Facebook that the resort we had them booked at was closing under emergency pretenses and would not be open until November. We had to scramble to get them moved to a sister resort and move the ceremony. When it was all said and done, everything worked out and they had a fabulous time.
When many people think of the Caribbean, they think of great resorts, Jamaica, and Cuba. But what they don’t realize is that the most popular destination in the Caribbean is the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Republic is on an island that is shared with Hispaniola and Haiti, and it sees over 6 million visitors a year. This results in 2 million more than Cuba. This Caribbean destination has a lot more to offer visitors than your run-of-the-mill resort. The Dominican Republic has so much more.
