Sorry for the long delay between posts on our Sandals and Beaches trip to Jamaica. Because of the holidays and then the beginning of Wave Season, it has been almost impossible to continue writing about the trip. So, Sandals and Beaches – Day 2!
The Start of Day 2 – Beaches Negril
I stated in my previous post that we were staying at Beaches Negril. I loved this resort and would go back in a heartbeat. We had the evening before to explore the resort on our own, so we had a basic layout of the resort before we started our guided tour. All I can say is that the Beaches Sales Management staff is top notch. Our “guide” for the day was Raven and she really knew her stuff and gave us an incredible tour of the resort.
Separate posts for the information that we received at each of the resorts will be needed. The first tour day was busy and there was a lot of information. After the tour at Beaches Negril, we boarded a bus to head to Grand Pineapple Beach Negril.
Day 2 – Resort 2 – Grand Pineapple Beach Negril
Grand Pineapple Beach is different than the rest of the resorts. This resort is what I would call minimalistic. There is one restaurant, one bar, one pool and the resort operates on more of a European plan experience. We were able to see the only open room they had on our tour. I would equate it to a room you would experience in a hotel, but still very nice. This resort is beach front, but it is also spread across both sides of the road. I would call it quaint as far as a resort goes.
This is definitely entry level or for someone that is ok with minimal and just relaxing. The resort does still have all the non-motorized water sports just like the other resorts. This resort would be perfect for college students or someone on a budget.
Day 2 – Resort 3 – Sandals Negril
After our tour at The Grand Pineapple Beach Negril, we all loaded up into a bus and headed over to Sandals Negril. I expected a raucous party, but the atmosphere of the resort was surprisingly pleasant, and things were very relaxed. We arrived just before Noon, so we had lunch at the main restaurant. Lunch was a buffet, and the choices were plentiful, and the food was amazing. The tour of the facility was highly organized, and it gave a good understanding of the layout of the resort. We saw several rooms, from different room classes and all the communal areas and had the opportunity to ask questions specific to that resort.
Sandals and Beaches – Day 2, The End
After the tour at Sandals Negril, we loaded back onto our bus and went back to Beaches. We were free for the rest of the day and evening to dine where we wanted and to experience and enjoy the resort at our own pace.
